Wikipedia defines ‘mission statement’ as a formal short written statement of the purpose of a company or organization. The mission statement should guide the actions of the organization, spell out its overall goal, provide a sense of direction, and guide decision-making. It provides “the framework or context within which the company’s strategies are formulated.

Mission statements then are very important to a company or organization no matter how big or small. Then how much more important is it to have a mission statement in our own lives? We are children of God and human beings made in the image of God- I would say it is far more important to have and know our mission statement. The truth is though that very few Christians know what their general and specific mission statement is yet alone have it written down on a piece of paper. I believe that as Christians we have a mission statement and a purpose that God outlines in the Bible for every believer. But I also believe that the Holy Spirit has a specific mission statement that is very unique and that only we can accomplish!

I went from generally knowing in my mind what God biblically tells me to do and some of my hearts interest in what I thought I would do one day to totally transforming my existence by writing out my mission statement! When you take the time to ask God and look in the Bible and put it on paper and go through different drafts of summing up exactly what God is showing you and what your heart is passionate about and then being able to put that mission statement in a plaque and hang it on your wall where you see it constantly is utterly amazing! It gave me such a purpose, such a focus, such an easier decision making process which steps and direction that I took in life! That is why businesses and organizations take the time to know what their mission statement is and to write it down on paper and to share it with all their employees. Mission Statement

I am called to be a Godly, righteous man, to spend time and to grow in my walk with the Lord. Honoring Him in all that I do, being attentive and obedient to the Holy Spirit’s leading, spreading the gospel in my own area of influence and around the world, and to have the fruits of the spirit activated in my life so that I may affect everything and everyone I would ever come into contact with. Though, my exact commissioning from the Holy Spirit is to allow God to develop and for myself to strive to be a very well balanced individual by being strong spiritually, mentally, physically, emotionally, and financially. Knowing that when I have become this man, and I will, that in Gods timing He will bring me my wife that He has had for me and to love her, serve her, and to minister to her as Christ did the church. To then raise children in His timing, pouring myself into them and raising them up to be strong in all aspects of their lives so that they may be ready at a young age to accomplish anything and all things that God has called them to do. That they would never depart from the way they were raised and taught, that they would too marry and raise their children in Gods timing and then also raise their children in the way they should go so that they would never depart from it. Thus creating ‘generational changers’ influencing everyone we come into contact with every day of our lives.
